(Primary Science) Humans are not made of matter?

Sometimes, I hear from students thinking that humans are not made of matter. Well, we have mass and we occupy space and therefore we are matter. If you don't believe it, stand on a weighing scale. And after that immerse yourself in a bath tub full of water like what Archimedes did. The scale tells you that you have weight and therefore you have mass, while the water that is overflown from the bath tub shows that you have taken up the space of the water displaced.

We have mass and we occupy space...

On a higher level, living things including ourselves are made of large molecules (such as carbohydrates, proteins and fats) which are large groups of atoms. All matter is composed of atoms. We are made of atoms. Therefore, we humans are matter.

We are made of atoms...
